Former Sony executive criticizes modern games as too lengthy and no longer attractive!

Recently, former Sony executive Shawn Layden said that in modern games, the length of the game is more important than the cost of the game.
Many of today's big games try to keep players playing, whether it's a large live service game like Fortnite or a large open world game like Assassin's Creed: Shadow. As game prices get higher and higher, it seems difficult for players to accept that they can only play for 5 hours after spending $70 on a game. However, Shawn Layden said that he doesn't like this unnecessary redundant content.
In an interview with PlayerDriven, Layden talked about how as players get older, more and more of their time is occupied by work tasks and family chores, and those lengthy games are less and less attractive to players.
"I don't need you to spend 100 hours on my game. I want you to put down the controller after 20 hours," Layden said. Ironically, Sony's The Last of Us Part II and God of War: Ragnarok are more lengthy than their predecessors.
Layden praised Astro Bots, saying, "They made each level very well and very tight." He also said that in the past 5-7 years, games have lost a "sense of completion." The scarcity of 2A games is because they are awkwardly sized and difficult to get investment.
